Market town in Gloucestershire, England;
population (1981) 15,620. It is the `capital'
of the Cotswolds. Light industry is based on
engineering and the manufacture of electrical
goods. It was the second largest town in
Roman Britain, and has an amphitheatre which
seated 8,000, and the Corinium Museum. The
Royal Agricultural College is based here.
